I started out as an offshore structural engineer designing oil rigs until the bottom dropped out of the oil and gas market. After a not so brief stint of unemployment, I decided to become a math teacher. Now I teach high school math (Algebra 2) and have recently moved into my own home in the suburbs. I decided to start a blog about my adventures. I am obsessed with sailing and with the types of crafts and skills that would be useful in a zombie apocalypse.  I recently discovered quilting and have been quilting non-stop. I also like to knit, crochet, sew in general and bake. I got tired of buying bread with soy lecithin (GMO) and other ingredients that I couldn’t pronounce; so for the last 3 or 4 years I have been making all of my own bread. My current favorite is sourdough. You may see pictures of bread making as well- just a heads up.
